Autumn Fair 2012 at The Camellia, Thunder Bay, On

Autumn is here! You are invited to our Autumn Fair which starts today and runs until Sunday, September 30th. 2012. How do you feel about the change in weather? Are you sad to see Summer go, are you waving Good Bye to the flocks of geese as they fly overhead, noisily honking away?  Or are you a "Thank goodness it's cooling off "  type of person, can't wait to pull on your favourite sweater and boots?
This Autumn, we have a lovely selection of goods at The Camellia, carefully chosen just for you. Look at the made-to-look-like vintage cushions above, aren't they just perfect for a European themed room. .

Here's a peek at a custom order that we designed for a very special front door. Not your traditional Fall piece, but it does speak to you of Autumn, earthtones, and leaves swirling in the wind.

Here's one of our new Fall handbags, paired with one of Sarah's hand-made scarves.

Look at this hot number, good for those parties that pop up around Christmas. it comes in lots of other colours - silver, purple, black, white, grey.

Epol bags are the bag for the sportsey person, or an upscale alternative to the Lunchpail. Lots of pockets and places to fit everything. Tough, can-take-all-you-dish-out bag.

We have had a fantastic growing season ( except for the chomping caterpillars) , and our Sunflowers are spectacular, the bees think so too!

The colours of the sun and ripening Olives are echoed in this tablecloth - water repellent and stain resistant. Most clients buy 1 of these, and come back for a couple more. Rave reviews on these. Try 1 today, many colors and patterns in stock at the store.

Let us custom-make a Floral design for your Home - lost of containers to choose from.

A peek at some of our in-store displays.

Many new signs in - where to place them? Hallways, Living-rooms, entranceways, they will look good anywhere.

Gift selection - Set of 4 custom chicken placemats - with 2 chicken mugs, in a wire basket, $71.63. The mugs are a Warren Kimble design, from Sakura,Oneida. Call toll-free at 1 -877-523-7444 to order. You can also order fresh flowers of Fruit baskets for delivery in the Thunder Bay area.

Some of our grapes we grew --so sour, but we grow them for flower arrangements. Look at those colours though, you could theme an entire room around them .

A faux-botanical bouquet, we've added greens in from our Garden, doesn't it look great?

One of my aims this Fall is to sit and Light a candle.  These are special Soy candles, poured especially for you, by Canadian hands. Yummy smells!

Our goodies from the Cutting Garden.

Take a look around you and harvest what you can for Fall decorating. These are grapevine leaves, which we preserved with glycerin. You can buy glycerin in the drug store, combine 1 part glycerin to  3 parts hot water. Place stems into solution and leave for at least a week, sometimes 2. Your leaves will stay nice and soft but will turn brown.

Planting for a Summer Garden, The Camellia, Thunder Bay, On

It's raining outside, and those of us who are avid Gardeners are starting to get the itch to play in the dirt and plant seeds, and are wondering if the bulbs we planted in the Fall will actually come up..!

However, reality intrudes. Snow still on the ground, piles of paperwork everywhere, cleaning and purging ( again, no-one wants to tackle this). Bills, and , and...you get the picture. I'm sure you have a list of tasks which you should be doing, but don't really want to....

Nothing compares to the smell of Sweet Peas...I started them myself from seeds last Spring.
Back to that nasty list of things I have to do...how to get through it..?
I think of something I really like to do in the Summer..like Gardening, then I think of how terrible it would be if I was stuck indoors doing all the things on my list which I should have tackled earlier on..like now. This spurs me on, amidst much groaning and sighing.

They smell so good...I should just eat them! Goldens will eat almost anything.

The Sunflower seeds really did transform themselves into mammoth, showy large masterpieces.

Who can resist the blue of Morning Glories?

And Pansies.... brilliant colours. My favourite!!

Red Amaranthus.

Leave a comment below and tell us how you cope with the list of never-ending disagreeable tasks....

Visit Camellia's for Inspiration and a BREATH OF SPRING!!
