Thinking Christmas in Summer, Camellia's, Thunder Bay

Yes, it's Summertime but for those of us in retail, we are fast forwarding ahead to Christmas. A difficult thing to do when it's so nice and warm out. What about you, have you made any sand castles lately? Play is so important in our lives.

 Splashing in Lake Superior.

 Gigantic Sunflowers from my Garden.

Splish-a-splashing in the water...always fun!

A pink tree..my grand-daughter and niece would love this!!

 Snow-encrusted blooms....

Lovely Pink and white colour scheme..... a departure from the usual red and green.

Planting for a Summer Garden, The Camellia, Thunder Bay, On

It's raining outside, and those of us who are avid Gardeners are starting to get the itch to play in the dirt and plant seeds, and are wondering if the bulbs we planted in the Fall will actually come up..!

However, reality intrudes. Snow still on the ground, piles of paperwork everywhere, cleaning and purging ( again, no-one wants to tackle this). Bills, and , and...you get the picture. I'm sure you have a list of tasks which you should be doing, but don't really want to....

Nothing compares to the smell of Sweet Peas...I started them myself from seeds last Spring.
Back to that nasty list of things I have to do...how to get through it..?
I think of something I really like to do in the Summer..like Gardening, then I think of how terrible it would be if I was stuck indoors doing all the things on my list which I should have tackled earlier on..like now. This spurs me on, amidst much groaning and sighing.

They smell so good...I should just eat them! Goldens will eat almost anything.

The Sunflower seeds really did transform themselves into mammoth, showy large masterpieces.

Who can resist the blue of Morning Glories?

And Pansies.... brilliant colours. My favourite!!

Red Amaranthus.

Leave a comment below and tell us how you cope with the list of never-ending disagreeable tasks....

Visit Camellia's for Inspiration and a BREATH OF SPRING!!

Oak leaf & Sunflowers at The Camellia

INspired by the Fall colours and our metal Artisan- made Garden Sunflowers, and the fact I picked Oak leaves a week ago, today 's project was a Fall Oak leaf Door swag. I'm sure the Oak leaves will dry nicely, this is a large, showy piece for your front door, and totally affordable at $55.00.

Nice to see all of you stopping by The Camellia, the leaves are turning beautiful shades of russet, caramel, and golden yellows. Nice weekend for Fall Drives. Looking for a quick colour change, try Pratt & Lambert( www.prattandlambert.com), Sturdy Table 8-21, a nice russet brown.

Sunflowers

Some late-blooming giant Sunflowers from the garden. Bright and colourful against a blue sky, sure to chase away anyone's blues!

You can incorporate cheery yellow into your colour scheme, by adding throw pillows, decorative vases, or some bright Faux Sunflowers in a vase. Yellow and Gray make a wonderful colour combination. What rooms in your house could benefit from a burst of colour? Come into The Camellia , and get inspired!
