At Camellia's we use the best permanent Botanicals

I had an interesting conversation today with someone about the price of a custom designed Floral arrangement. I could tell that the person thought the quoted price was a bit high. So I thought it would be good to share with you this video which shows  how flowers are made.

Many hours go into making the flowers. Then it takes the skill of the floral designer to arrange these beautiful flowers into something that will beautify your Home or Office.

When you need something spectacular and realistic-looking for your Home, call Camellia's at 807)475-3551.
Or better yet, stop by with your paint chips, upholstery swatches and photos and order a custom design.

Camellia's - simply the best in permanent botanicals.

Yikes! It's steaming hot in the Bay, Camellia's Thunder Bay, On

It's steaming hot here in Thunder Bay, yesterday it was 41 C with the humidity. A person can barely function in this kind of heat. If you're lucky and it's your day off, most of us will head to the Lake. There are lots  of inland Lakes here, and of course, the Big Kahuna, Lake Superior. There is almost always a  cool breeze blowing off Lake Superior. I'd be so happy if you left me a comment and let me know what your favourite activity is when the temperature gets unbearably hot!

Some of us will head South, to Gran Marais, in Minnesota which is about an hour from Thunder Bay. I just realized it's July 4th, Happy July 4th to our American neighbours!!!

These rocks have been here for centuries, see the signature above from 1902...

There were many people that day making rock sculptures on the side of Lake Superior. Never underestimate the value of play, it's food for your Soul. Of course, the cool breezes, the sound of the waves, and the ions wafting around from the Lake, all help to make you feel better in Body, Mind & Spirit!

For incredible Artwork and Paintings , go to www.paulinehorricks.com

Here at Camellia's we have Jewels made for you by a local Artisan - I just love this frog necklace, and it's all on stretchy cord.

Lovely Pitchers which can do double-duty as a Flower Vase.

What a Treat - a bar of Sweet Grass Farm Lavender soap - all can be found at here at the shop at Camellia's.

Yesterday, the heat was so much, we traipsed off to Lake Marie Louise ( Sibley Provincial Park) and Silver Island. This would mean travelling along the Sleeping Giant Mountain ridge you see when looking out from the Harbour.

 Lots of wildlife to see...

Finally we were cool! A nice, cooling breeze blowing off Lake Superior. After all the heat, it felt good. Life, after all, is all relative.

 Crystal clear waters.

This is the extraordinary shop of my friend, Brenda, called Phoebe's Shadow. This is the entrance, what do you think of it?

This is the actual Gallery - can't wait to visit when it Opens which is probably later on this week.

Just remember to Follow your Bliss..we have this wall plaque for sale in the shop .

Happy Canada Day at Camellia's, Thunder Bay, ON

Happy Canada Day everyone!! What are you doing today to celebrate?  My favourite activity is being in nature and being around Flowers. I hope you have something fun planned for today..

What do you love about living in Canada? I love looking out at the mountains from my window. There is so much land in Canada, and it's usually safe to walk. ( maybe the occasional Black Bear or so..!)

And yes, if you hear a gunshot, you don't usually have to drop and roll.

Lost of Lakes, it's so nice living next to the largest body of freshwater in the world, Lake Superior.

Of course, you never know what or who will move into your Yard. We think the beaver has left our pond in the back 40. However we have a runaway Chicken, we're not sure why he or she left home, but  our         Golden retriever and the chicken are not getting along.

Happy Canada Day! Call and check our hours today and stop by the Baggage Building at the Marina from 5-8 and say Hi!! Fireworks on tonight at the Marina.

Ikea Kitchen Makeover at Beach cottage

When I travel to Europe, I'm always amazed at how clean and tidy their houses are, and how they mange to purge themselves of all things unnecessary. Everything is there, but hidden in cupboards. The counters are clean, and no, they don't have a Maid service coming in regularly.

I think the only people who have clean kitchens are the ones that eat out all the time. NOT happening at my place, here's a scrumptious Coffee Cake which was just made.

In Europe, they seem to have  a knack for mixing ultra modern Ikea cabinets with century-old antiques, and it blends and looks wonderful. How do they do it?

Visit Camellia's! Strawberry picking is coming up, mention the word STRAWBERRY and get a discount at our till!

OPEN Wednesday 11-5, Thurs. 12-6, Friday 11-5, Sat. 11-5.
Sunday is Canada Day and we are at the Baggage Building at the Marina at the Handmade Market between 5-8p.
Have  a wonderful week, oh, please go to our Facebook page and Like Us!!
