Junk Bonanza 2011, Shakopee, Camellia's Thunder Bay, On

I was so glad to be able to go to Junk Bonanza this year. I went last year and was overwhelmed, so this year I went with a shopping list, and a plan to start at the back of the show, and work my way slowly to the front. I was still overwhelmed by the creativity of the vendors, and the vast array of products which might otherwise have been thrown into a Junk pile.

I couldn't choose from the photos I took, so this is going to be a rather long post.

Industrial chic wall shelf.

Photo Op at the entrance to Junk Bonanza.

What a cool idea...reusing pages from old books!

A Bike Carrier basket --if only I had an old bike for this!

A lampshade made from old projector slides - what a great use for old slides. The light shining through the slides looks amazing.

French hand-stamped ribbon.

This dress could be a walking advertisement for Restoration Hardware.

Nice skirt - made from pages of old books.

Old typewriter keys made into Jewellery - how cool is that?

Custom Florals at Camellia's, Handmade in Thunder Bay, On

You meet all kinds on interesting animals on a Drive in the Country. I stopped on Farm Road to take some photos of these Cows, they all came over to see what I was doing.

This little guy wanted to get as close as possible! I said GoodBye to them, and went home to have a steak dinner...(feeling quite guilty about this...sigh....)

We're busy trying to get some Custom Designing in, this is a nice accent to match our lime green & chocolate Bedding. This would look fabulous on a bedside table.

Here's the arrangement beside the Pillow from the SOYA collection of Bedding which we sell - available in Duvet cover and all the matching accessories.

We're also busy trying to harvest everything from the Cutting Gardens...from this..

......to this. This wreath also has Peonies which we picked from the Garden a while back. Come visit The Camellia - we'd love to see you!
Enjoy the warm weather we're having for September!

OPEN : Wednesday through Sunday. Friday 11-5, Sat. 11-5, Sun. 12-5.

Boating at Cloud Lake, Camellia's Thunder Bay Florist, ON

It was time to take a break today and go for a Boat Ride. Cloud Lake is a mere 20 minutes away from us. So we loaded up the boat and off we went.

It was cloudy when we got there, but still nice and warm. Lots of other boats were on the Lake . The Golden was quite worried about the noise of the motor, but eventually he pulled his head out from my arm and started to enjoy the ride.

We were lucky and spotted a Loon on the Lake. I've never seen one close up before, so this was a treat.

Cloud Lake is quite high up, as you can see from this photo which was taken on the way back home. Need a break? Go for a boat ride on Cloud Lake!

Working Holiday, CGTA Gift show, Lake Michigan, & Toronto,On

We've been away for a while, travelling, attending Gift shows, doing a partial Lake Superior Circle Tour, sourcing out new product for clients, and working..... This is one of the smaller Banquet rooms at the Park Inn, Rexdale, On. Fabulous chandeliers and trim details.

Manzanita branches are so sculptural - akin to a work of Art when positioned in a room.

What a treat to smell all the wonderful fresh flowers at Metz Floral. I felt like I was back in Holland!

I was happy to find fresh Bay leaves, here I am making a Wreath with the bay leaves.

Over-the-top Displays at Flora Seda's booth at CGTA Gift Show, Toronto.

Brand new Bedding patterns from Brunelli.

This season, Grey continues to be strong, along with the ever popular Black & White.

Always lots to see in Toronto, here is a movie being made, just around the corner from the Delta Chelsea on Gerrard St.

Of course, Christmas is just around the corner.

We have new evening bags - in various colours

Aaahhh.! Rest and Relaxation...wonderful stretches of sandy beach just after you cross over at Sault Ste. Marie into the U.S. These beaches continue all the way to Marquette, Michigan.

Being at the Beach is what Summer is all about. We usually seize any opportunity to stop at a sandy beach.

Breakfast at Big Boy Restaurants - so delicious!

Lots of stopping along the way to check out the many streams and waterfalls, this spot had the greenest moss I have ever seen.

To end a Road trip, roasting marshmallows, and eating S'mores!
