Happy Thanksgiving from The Camellia, Slate River, On

FALL is upon us, and Thanksgiving is almost here.

Set a beautiful Table with faux flowers, like the design above. Flowers can be changed out seasonally, and the glass vase is airy and light. Using top quality, realistic looking faux flowers is a must.

Pumpkins are lovely for Pumpkin Pie, and Cake and lattes.....

Order fresh flowers to send to someone you care about ... we deliver in Thunder Bay and area. Call toll-free at 1-877-523-7444. This is a lovely shop in Sonoma Valley, Cali. (we wish our shop looked like this, though).

Come into our store, The Camellia, for Tablecloths - these are water repellent & stain resistant. Most spills will wipe up with a damp rag, and they are machine washable. We have many patterns in stock. They are sized in rounds 70", squares 70" x 70", rectangles 78" long, 94" long, and up to 126". not sure what size your table is? just think about how many can sit at your table. Happy Fall!

It's officially the first day of Fall today! Remembering our Mr. Benji, always by my side when I am tromping through the yard picking ferns, berries and branches to create Fall wreaths. And sniffing outside the vegetable garden for any forgotten tomatoes, he loved his tomatoes. Well, here in Slate River Valley , we have been blessed with an abundant Harvest and warm weather this Fall. How about you, what's the weather like where you live?

Something we don't see in the Caribbean  is this colourful changing of leaves. It truly is spectacular.

A great time to get out and go for a Fall hike.

You can collect fall foilage to make a Wreath or you attend out Wreath making Workshop. Create a
Harvest Wreath at The Camellia with dried and preserved foilage - oak leaves, bamboo leaves, wheat and pods, tied with burlap ribbon. September is almost here - Enjoy these last days of Summer!

What have you been up to this last little while? We know lots of you are on the road travelling - to visit Family, to attend Weddings, and simply to travel. it's always nice to go on Vacation...leaving your regular routine, taking off and visiting another city or country. And stopping by the Lake, to enjoy every last bit of summer.

Ever wonder where everyone travels from? These maps at our Ontario Tourist Centres are quite interesting ..tourists place a pin on the map pinpointing where they live. And by the way, whenever you go to a Tourist Centre, always sign their guest book, these are important in funding decisions, and traffic patterns determine whether that tourist centre will be open again next year..

The joy of checking into a clean Hotel Room - and plopping yourself onto the Bed!

As seen at The Microtel Hotel chain in Sault Ste-Marie - lovely place to stay. They also serve a full breakfast included with your room stay.

Of course, it's always fun to stop at those little Antique shops along the way. And Yard sales.

Vintage doorknobs are so chic at the moment.

A stash of bobbins from an old textile mill in Utica, N.Y. Perfect for making Vintage Christmas ornaments.

Jeanne D'Arc Living style. That Paris pillow reminds you that chintz is always in style.

As you're driving along, you may see a Farm stand - with Fresh eggs.

It's great to get Honey directly from the Farm, rather than buying it in the grocery store.

Lots of barns and stacks of  grass in the fields.

A quick stop to pick some Queen Anne's lace.

Summer is fun, whether you're driving downtown Toronto, or....

Touring an A-frame recreation of an old house in the 1800's.

For those Botanical nuts in the Family, a stop at a Plant Conservatory is a must.

Such a great upcycled Cottage Paint dresser... don't you just love those rope handles on the drawers?

Exciting News - coming soon....Cottage Paint Serenity. This product is for those of you who do not want a distressed finish. it is a high-end acrylic paint with urethane in the paint. You will be able to recoat in 2 hours, and no topcoat is needed. Serenity can be used indoors or outdoors
