Painting a Cedar wall with Cottage Paint.

Spring is almost here, even though we still have snow on the ground, and freezing cold winds today. After a long Winter, we may feel the urge to refresh our interior spaces, and put away the Winter decor, and paint. Cottage Paint, which is made in Canada, is perfect for painting over wood.  

 

Serenity Cottage Paint, in Silk finish, is what was used in this photo. This is applied with a Cottage Paint brush or a microfiber roller. Applying 2 coats gives a good coverage. Of course, you should clean the wall with Cottage Paint Furniture Clean and Prep, prior to painting. One may think that the knots in the cedar will show through eventually, so far, they have not. Use BIN primer ( shellac-based) to prime before painting  if you are worried about the tannins in the wood bleeding through.
