This past week, a huge flock of Grosbeaks has been feeding in our Crabapple trees. A sight to behold, especially with the recent snow on the ground. Birds are so JOYFUL.... and so happy with so little...

Sunflowers
Some late-blooming giant Sunflowers from the garden. Bright and colourful against a blue sky, sure to chase away anyone's blues!
You can incorporate cheery yellow into your colour scheme, by adding throw pillows, decorative vases, or some bright Faux Sunflowers in a vase. Yellow and Gray make a wonderful colour combination. What rooms in your house could benefit from a burst of colour? Come into The Camellia , and get inspired!

Flowers for Grand Opening
It's September already ( Yikes!), but our marvellous Summer weather continues. Good news for all the flowers happily growing in the garden, ready to be used in fresh flower creations or in our Wreaths. The hanging Green flowers are Hanging Amaranthus. And the purple spikes are a different variety of Lavender, the leaves smell like licorice, and the bees love these plants!
I used both the amaranthus and the lavender in a large Floral Arrangement which was sent for the Grand Opening of a Municipal Office. How appropriate for an Office in the Country!

Harvesting Garden wreaths
It has been a great Summer for growing Flowers, as long as one was able to keep up with all the watering and weeding. I gave up on the weeding . Yesterday was spent picking Bamboo leaves, which were then made into a Wreath.
Wreaths symbolize the eternity of life. This wreath will be perfect for someone who loves Nature, and has neutral tones in her Home.
Today, onwards to the lime green hanging Amaranthus, which will be treated in Glycerin and Dyes before making into Wreaths.
