Sympathy Flowers Thunder Bay, Saying Good Bye to a Loved one...

At this time of year, when it's Spring and the grass is starting to sprout in sunny places and trees are budding, it seems unfair that we lose loved ones . What can you send to express sympathy ? Flowers are a universal tribute at funerals.

At The Camellia, we carry many Sympathy stones, these are stones with comforting words which you can send to grieving family members and friends. What about sending a beautiful Spring planter like this one? The stone is cement and can either be hung on the wall, or placed in a Memorial Garden or at the grave. We also have stones which have a spot for attaching a photo.

Feed sack pillows, Junk Bonanza, Creative Connection Event, Minneapolis

This past Fall, I was so fortunate to be able to go to Junk Bonanza, and the Creative Connection event in Minneapolis. So many treasures!

I was fascinated with the Feed sack pillows.

These are my favourite, burlap with a Parisian flair! Seen at a booth at The Handmade Fair at the Creative Connection event.

These cushions looked so great in the living room at the Bachman's Fall Idea house.

I knew sooner or later, I would come across some feed sacks, so I could make my own pillows.

Here's some cushions I just made today, soft, time worn, and so Vintage. Part of a line we are introducing - Opa Overmeer's Farm Goods, in memory of my father-in-law, Ted Overmeer.

Here's my version of the feed sack pillow, these are square, the size of a euro sham. I'm thinking they will be perfect on the deck of a Summer cottage or Camp.

When a loved one dies, the loss , to most people, is devastating. Creating a fitting memorial is a way of coping with the grief. Camellia's is going to be the Thunder Bay rep. for a company who manfactures the most amazing and affordable memorials. A friend of mine gave them a photo of her loved one sitting by the fire in the forest, and the artist was able to reproduce the photo onto the memorial stone.
