What are your memories of Christmas? Most of us associate Christmas with Family get-togethers, lots of food and baking, and Gifts. Maybe a turkey with potatoes. Well, before I came to Canada, my kind of normal was my relatives making lots of food, everyone getting together, and heading off to THE BEACH! No bundling yourself into so many clothes that eventually you bear a close resemblance to the Michelin man! An even 85degrees F in the shade was my kind of normal. Never ate a potato until I came to Canada. Does Santa Claus dress up with all those clothes and does he have a beard in the Tropics? Of course, he does! and many Christmases ago, I did run away, to Barbados.

So, let's talk about Christmas dinner. Are you having the whole gang over, and wondering what to use for a tablecloth? Please do not tell me you are using a plastic tablecloth....we have great water-repellent, stain resistant cloths that look fabulous and are easy to take care of. They are a great price , starting at $25.00 to 28.00. Take a quick measure of your table, snap a photo of your table with your phone, and come visit The Camellia. Check out our tablecloths and the linen-look runner in the photo above.

Memories of Summer Blooms

Daylilies by my pond.

On days like today, when the wind is howling, and the temperatures are a chilly minus 30, all I want to do is curl up by the fireplace. It's comforting to look at photos from my Summer garden,
remember spring is just a few months away!

Showy Begonias almost look like a Camellia blossom!

Pansy blossoms are so cheery, one can't help but feel happy when faced with their profusion of blooms.

Daisies are so plentiful in a Country Garden.

Of course, in the Springthyme, nothing is more showy than the flowering crabapple trees which line our Country driveway.

Don't these look as if someone spent hours painting and colouring them?

Yes, SPRING is a mere few months away!
