Winter Classes at The Camellia, January 2019

Hello! We know a lot of you are preparing to host Christmas dinner and family get-togethers, and will be using our water-repellent and stain-resistant Tablecloths. Pattern shown above is in stock now, and other colours and patterns are in stock, with sizes from 70" round to 94" or 108" rectangles. Most spills clean up easily with a damp rag, and tablecloths are washable.  We are Open Sat. Dec. 22. 11-5. and Sun. Dec. 23. 12- 5.  Christmas Eve, Mon. Spring Plants on Vancouver Island, Art Knapp Part 2

Spring comes a lot earlier to Vancouver Island, today we're continuing our photo tour of Flowering bushes and plants. Here in Thunder Bay, the buds on the Apple trees are just starting to show some colour. 

The Rhodos were in full bloom when we visited. Most of the bushes were loaded with blooms.

Of course, if we lived on the Island, I would definitely be at Art Knapp buying plants. 

White Dogwood trees are even growing in the wild.  

Do plan a Visit to The Camellia, we have no Rhodos, but our Flowering crabapple trees will soon be in bloom. We have Camp decor, Lake decor, Mosquito nets, No-see-um Nets, and much more! The Camellia is OPEN on May Long Weekend

Happy MAY long weekend!! The Camellia is open all weekend,  Barnboard class on today, and Friday, May 20th. ( same class both days)

Happy dance - it's MAY long weekend!   Our store on Hacquoil Rd. is OPEN  Wednesday through Sunday, and we are open MAY long , FRI.  11-5, Sat. 11-5, and Sunday 12-5. Barnboard classes are on  today, May 19th. and Friday, May 20th.  Our Beginners' Cottage Paint class on May 26th. is full, we are adding a class on  Friday, May. 27th. Do phone if you would like to come on May 27th.     Heading out to Camp this weekend?  Stop in at The Camellia first, to get Mosquito nets and No-see-um nets. Place them over your bed to stop you getting bitten, and to stop ticks from getting into bed with you. Sadly, the news is correct, the ticks are bad this year.  We have NAPA Valley diffusers, and Beekman 1802 products to help get rid of that musty, locked up smell. of course, don't forget the faux flowers, these add beauty without the fuss and mess of fresh. And our favourite magic Tablecloths, which are a must out at Camp. We have the Cottage Life Bedding collection here at The Camellia, and lots of LAKE signs, and fishing-themed framed prints. The bedroom in the top right is in a B&B on Salt Spring Island, what a treat to wake up to the ocean and trees & blue skies! Classes at The Camellia, Slate River, Thunder Bay, On

Today we're sharing some  photos from some of our recent classes at the Camellia. 

This is our Beginners' Cottage/chalk Paint class.

We cover several techniques such as 1 colour distressing, and 2 colour distressing .

You get to try Crackle medium, dry brushing, and antique glazes. 

And waxing and varnishing. 

This class is a full 3 hours. The 22nd. of October class is changed to  October 30th. 2015. We will also have a Beginners class in November on the 24th. or 25th. 

This is our Stencil class. 

It was a fun evening for a Sisters reunion. You can book your own class with 4 or more people. 

And some photos from the Fall Wreath-making class, This is a Harvest Wreath made with all kinds of preserved foilage and dried grasses and grains. Made the old-fashioned way, all wired in by hand. 

And here is a Happy hydrangea wreath, made with fresh blooms.

Create a HARVEST WREATH: with dried & preserved foilage - oak leaves, bamboo leaves, wheat, pods, and finish with a burlap bow. Wed. Sept. 30th. 2015. 7-9 pm. $99.00 +hst. All supplies included. Wreath will be different from the photo above.
