Camille Overmeer at Artisans Northwest, Valhalla, Icelandic Room

 Camille Overmeer will be at the Artisans Northwest Art & Craft Show at the Valhalla Inn this weekend, Nov. 17th. ( 10am -6p) and Nov. 18th. (10am -4p).  We are in the Icelandic room, booth # 63, that's the smaller rooms off to the side of the main Ballroom.

 The arduous task of moving large-scale wreaths from point A to point B... 2 vans, a trailer, and product stuffed in kid's truck. I've also taken over the garage, and let's not talk about the state of my house. Also let's not talk about my backlog of orders, my poor clients! I am not ignoring you, we will talk next week.

 Love Vintage and want to create something lovely for your front entranceway ? Take our VINTAGE SAP BUCKET Evergreen class at Camellia's. These buckets were originally used in Maple Syrup production, they have a wonderful patina. 

Classes will be held Sunday, December 2nd. and Sunday, December 9th. 2012, from 1pm to approximately 2.30 to 3 pm. This is a Beginner class, just bring a pair of gardening gloves and a pair of floral snips if you have them. Sap pail, evergreens, and soil will be provided. Dress in serviceable, warm clothes. 

Cost is $55.00 plus a design fee of $10.00. All class fees are non-refundable.

 What colours are you planning for your Outdoor decorating this season? Red with burlap, perhaps? Or the classic taupe, black and grey colour scheme?  Bright turquoise and hot pinks..? the list of colour combinations is endless.

 The barnwood used in these photos is what's left of our farmstead on Broadway Ave. What antiques do you have that have been passed on from your family?

 

 Imitate the squirrels,  and  collect pine cones, they are useful for so many Winter projects.

 Maybe we will teach these in another class, how to make rolled roses.

California Dreaming, The Camellia, Thunder Bay

  We're back after taking a short break...just going through California withdrawal right now. You know those TV commercials you see for California ...well, they're true!!  No coats needed in the Valley. It feels like you're in Tuscany or Provence. Pinch me, I must be dreaming...

 And yes, there was a Winery, way on the top of the hills, that grows Lavender. And you are so lucky, if you come into our store, you can purchase their products right here at The Camellia.

  We were able to tour the Barn where the lavender is very carefully dried.

 The shops, well, they are over the top. It is after all, California. The largest number of billionaires in the  whole world apparently reside in California. This is a french-themed store in Sonoma.

 A visit to the San Francisco Flower Market, yes, here I am, lusting after the Manzanita branches...oooh..I would so love to be able to get these home!! 

 Everywhere you go, the Camellias are blooming..and the Gardenias..and the Magnolias...sigh..

 A visit to the Alameda Antiques Fair, here is the booth of Atelier de Campagne. So many treasures, 800 vendors, so little time...

 What did I see as we were driving along in Napa Valley? There was a house Tour at Cardinale Winery, sponsored by the magazine Traditional Home, and I GOT TO GO ON THE TOUR!! Here is a peek into the entranceway..

Getting off the Wheel to catch one's Breath.

Once, I was visiting my sister,and her roommate had a hamster, the dratted thing would arise at 5 am and proceed to run on his wheel, never stopping, around and around he ran. I am feeling like that hamster, running around in circles and getting nowhere, fast. So we'll be taking a break to catch our breath, and will reopen here at Camellia's on October 11th. 2012. 

Enjoy the fabulous colours of Fall, and take a deep breath ! Go for a long walk.
